Jaw trap for catching voles

Voles are undesirable guests in the garden - they not only devastate the lawn, but can also ruin the vegetable harvest. Put an end to it all with the proven BRACKET vole trap. With this high-quality and durable trap, also known as “Augsburg jaw trap”, you can catch voles effectively and reliably. The trap is triggered by a slight pressure. After a successful catch, the vole trap made of galvanized wire can be immediately used again.

Tip: This is how you can detect a vole tunnel

Vole tunnels, like mole ones, run underground. However, they are usually not deeper than 5 cm and cause crusts and mounds of soil to be raised. Compared to a mole tunnel, the latter is usually deeper and the mounds are higher than those of voles.

If you dig up a tunnel, the vole will close it again within a very short time, while a mole would rather dig a new tunnel underneath. This is how you can tell the tunnels of voles and moles apart.

Use the sounding rod VOLE TRAP ACCESSORIES (item no. 05316) to dig into the ground where tunnels are suspected to be present. If no resistance can be felt, it is probably one of the branched vole passages. Mark these places with the Windhager marker flags (item no. 05317). If these lie in the grass a few hours later, the tunnel is being used. Vole traps should be positioned precisely in these places.

Setting up a vole trap

Voles have a very fine nose. Always wear gloves to protect against odours.

After a vole tunnel has been found, the trap only needs to be placed. The trap BRACKET should be placed about 10 cm below the surface of the earth. Then the hole must be covered again. For example, the previously removed sward or a bucket can be used for this purpose. In addition, the place where the trap is located can be marked with a flag (item no. 05317). This makes it easier to find the vole trap again afterwards.

Check the trap regularly. Remove the mouse after a successful catch, and then the trap can be immediately set again.

Are you interested in Voles and moles?

Nothing is as annoying as the destruction of your own garden. Especially with lovingly tended lawns, molehills are particularly visible. Even voles tunnels, which are usually quite close to the surface, are visible – moreover, voles also like to eat roots and thus destroy plants.

Decades of experience in driving away moles.

The Mole Stop 1000 was the first product that Windhager brought onto the market – and is still successful, because: it works! In the meantime, the product range offers a wide variety of possibilities for mole control and the control of voles.
