Wind and water-permeable shading
Pleasant shade on patios, balconies and in the garden is becoming increasingly important as temperatures rise. Awnings are a practical solution for this. They are quick and easy to attach, inexpensive compared to a pergola or similar and can be removed again at any time. Once the anchors are in place, a sun sail in a different colour can be tensioned at any time - for a completely new look. The soft colours do not reflect the sun so strongly and therefore do not dazzle.
Pleasant shade provided by sun sails also has the advantage that no valuable space is lost as floor space, as is the case with a parasol. And in winter, the sun canopy can simply be removed and stowed away to save space.
Suns sails are not only suitable for patios, they can also be used to create a great sun canopy on balconies, on lawns, over pools or sandpits. The only requirement: the sail must be able to be attached at 3 or 4 points.
The ELBA sun sail is an easy-care HDPE fabric that is easy to clean - either at 30° in the washing machine or with mild soapy water. This wind and water-permeable design has the advantage that it stays pleasantly cool under the awning because there is no heat build-up. In addition, the awning absorbs 90% of UV rays but allows the pleasant fresh breeze to pass through. The reinforced seams are particularly important for a sun awning as they provide a firm hold - and ensure that the sides do not tear even in windy conditions.
How do I find the right awning?
Various factors are important in finding the right awning for the area where you want to create shade.
1. the position of the sun: this varies greatly depending on the time of day and season. It is therefore essential that you observe the path of the sun beforehand and position the sail so that the shade corresponds to your requirements when the sun is at different positions. The rule here is: it is better to use a larger sail than the area to be shaded.
2. the size and shape of the sun sail should cover the area well - there are different sizes and shapes for this: triangular, square or rectangular.
3. a slight slope is desirable so that rain can wash off the surface dirt. This should be considered before installation and the first fixing points should be positioned high enough.
Attachment
The installation options for awnings are as varied as the gardens and patios on which they provide shade. The basic requirement is always that the awning is anchored at all corners. Anchoring elements such as sun sail poles, eyelets on the wall, eyebolts for posts, etc. are used for this purpose. Connecting elements (rope, D-shackle, carabiner, tension anchor, expander rope, tension spring) are used to attach the awning to the anchoring element.

Are you interested in Sun sail?
The sun brings light and warmth – but sometimes it brings too much: a cosy meal with friends on the terrace, an afternoon break on the balcony, even on holiday when camping there are moments when shade is simply more pleasant. Awnings that are easy to put up are ideal for this. Available in various colours and shapes, you will find a wide range of sun sails.
They are available in HDPE, which is permeable to air and water, thus preventing heat accumulation, or in coated polyester sailcloth, which is wind, water and dirt repellent. Special mounting sets and a wide range of accessories allow individual mounting and comfortable use of the awning.
