XXXL winter protection for Mediterranean plants
To make sure Mediterranean plants such as olive trees also have it cosy during the winter, they must be protected from frost. Windhager’s mega fleece hood is ideal for the job!
Even frost-hardy plants benefit from this XXXL thermal protection jacket as it protects them from cold wind and the intense winter sun, preventing evaporation and, in turn, the plant from drying up. Thus, it helps evergreen plants make it through the winter. This frost protection fleece also alleviates the effect of temperature fluctuations which is important for plants without leaves that may otherwise suffer bark damage.

Using the lateral zipper the frost protection jacket is simply pulled over the tree crown and closed. Working with another person or using a long stick (broomstick etc.) makes the job easier. At the bottom you can simply close the hood using the drawstring and stopper. The upper part is flat and sealed.

Note: if strong frosts persists, you should move particularly sensitive plants to a sheltered spot for the winter! Constant temperatures between 5 and 10°C are ideal for olive trees, for instance, even though they are capable of withstanding brief spells of low temperature with slight frost well if protected.
