How does it work?
Mice orientate themselves mainly through their sense of smell and their highly sensitive hearing. The TOPO STOP E 250 device emits variable sound frequencies in the range of 6 to 30 kHz. These shock-like sounds are so uncomfortable for the sensitive hearing of the mice that they have to leave the exposed area in a short time. The emission frequency, interval and duration are changed randomly so that the animals do not get used to the noises and thus insensitive.
These ultrasonic waves in “Normal” operating mode cannot be heard from the human ear nor from most pets such as dogs, cats, fish, birds and farm animals. If the intensive mode is activated, the sounds may also be audible to the human ear and this is particularly suitable in uninhabited rooms. The biological effectiveness is highest with this setting.
Positioning is the most important success factor
Orientation: The TOPO STOP should be oriented towards the object to be protected so that the sound waves can spread freely and over a wide area and are not obstructed by walls, shelves or the like. In this way, up to 250 m2 can be protected.
Mounting height: so that the sound waves arrive where they are supposed to provide protection. In the case of a car, for example, in such a way that the animals avoid the space UNDER the car, i.e. relatively low. In general, the device should preferably be installed at a height of up to one meter.
Practical information
The device and a separate power plug are included in the supply so that the mouse repellent can be placed anywhere. A suitable 20 m connecting cable (08020) is available separately. If more than one device is needed to keep the mice away, 2 TOPO STOP units can be linked together and connected to a single power adapter.
